Learn about "The Lair". Harridan had been using dragon’s in their military for about 20 years before they formally established the elite Ordo Draco . A special-forces military arm focussed on using dragons. This was a little less than 1,400 years ago. They were so successful in using them to extend their borders that when they declared themselves a nation, they took the name "The Draco Republic". 

College Armand was the first of its kind built by the Tower. In fact, it was this building that earned the splinter group from the Salbei Sages their name. Armand was a Salbei Sage and court mage to King Hugo of La’Certa over 1,300 years ago. Armand wanted a tract of sovereign land, and resources to build the college. King Hugo agreed in exchange for the slaughter of the Pegasus Nakbeast tribe, who had recently inflicted a stinging defeat against Hugo’s armies. Armand and some like-minded Salbei Sages agreed to the terms and used their mastery of magic to commit an act of violence that the modern day Tower would perhaps prefer was forgotten.

On the continent of Xi, the Black Oak Grove is located in the Pallas Forest, a huge forest that separates that nation of La’Certa from the Dying Wastes.

A clearing in the heart of the forest. At its centre, the massive, ancient oak tree, dripping with black-green sap. The clearing is lit by a metres high intensive bonfire. It’s a night with minimal moonlight and the flames cause shadows to flicker everywhere. A few figures are roughly silhouetted around the blaze. The Coven leadership meets here once a year to resolve disputes amongst their members.

This last one is the mysterious Nautilus Crystal, from the unaligned faction. A collection of models that can be used by any core faction strike team to supplement their force.

Shimmering blue, looming and smelling strongly of the briny sea and salty breeze. An inauspicious offering from the great sleeping one sent forth from the sunken city. Seen by many as exactly what the world needed to keep the magic of the Tower in check, but others have warned all to beware of any gift from the abyssal depths.

It is said that when the first dragons warred during the ancient times it was due to a curse put upon them by the first Witch. They abandoned all reason and lost themselves in an endless bloodlust. When they finally died in battle, as their bodies wasted away, where there should have been the rotting flesh of a once great heart, instead stood a pulsating red crystal, emanating unbridled fury.

These black cats are usually female, a little larger than average, and much much smarter. Their kind has willingly served members of the Coven since the days of the organisations founding.

One Grimalkin will be included in the starter set. These felines are very fast, able to get across the battlefield quickly. Witches can cast their spells through a Grimalkin, making them impressive range extenders.

Learning the healing arts is a route that has brought many a village girl into the fold of the Coven .

One White Witch will be included in the starter set. One of the only units in the game that can reliably churn out healing. She can heal her allies, bolster their defences with her protective charms, and interfere with her opponents' attacks using her aura of tranquillity.

Once held in the vaults of the La’Certa Royalty, a gift to the founders of the line in aeons past. This bright yellow crystalline structure, all spikes and shards like an organic growth. Large enough to be used as a throne at one point. The sparks of energy that leap from its surface, arcing towards any significant chunk of metal are one of the reasons why it was relegated to the vaults. Apparently, an entire retinue of Knights guarding the King were left little more than smoking charred skeletons in their armour.

Naturally crystallised from the sap of the great Black Oak, 8 foot tall, a dark, almost black green gemstone held in place by a thick growth of gnarled tree trunks and heavy vines. These gems are held sacred by many who respect the rule of nature.
